I feel fortunate to have been raised in New England a mere hour from the beauty of the White Mountains, the salt air of Maine’s coastline, and the culture and history of Boston. Leaving home, I headed for New York City. I loved my years studying French Language and Literature at Fordham, interning in the P.R. Department at Cartier on 52nd And Fifth Avenue, and all that downtown nightlife had to offer a young man.

Soon after graduation, I was thrown into the city’s vibrant culinary scene as “Food Maven” Arthur Schwartz’s assistant. An extremely rewarding post, I lent a hand in both publishing his masterwork cookbook (“Arthur Schwartz’s New York City Food”) and in founding a four-season cooking school at an Agriturismo based in an elegant Baronessa’s bufala farm in southern Italy.

With “La Dolce Vita” beckoning, I transported full time to sunny Salerno, just south of the famed Amalfi Coast. There I fell deeper in love with the people and their strong food traditions. After returning stateside, I made my final move to Miami, where I currently enjoy the best of life…in flip flops. xo
